Every morning I sit here like Lady Muck watching all those around me doing their early chores. Innocent is mucking the cows out though he’s got a challenge with Marie’s stable as it hasn’t got a solid base and now the rains are here it’s getting very muddy for her. Betty is washing the dishes from last nights supper and Gerry is ‘helping’ her Dada Judith to wash the dust off all the floors. Now she’s discovered a box that she’s chattering away with. She’s one happy contented little girl! 🤗
Even mother chick is scrabbling away at the soil to try and find breakfast for her chicks. When I first saw her she was sat just opposite where I was sat for my breakfast. She was sitting well down, then to my surprise and delight one little chick appeared from under her wing, then another, then another until she was leading them round their new home, peeping away.
The goat is reaching for the last of the leaves on a banana tree that’s been left for that purpose I think, with her kid desperately trying to grab a teat to suckle.🤣
I think I rather fancy a small holding with a few chicks 🐥 , pigs 🐷 , a cow 🐄 or two and definitely a few goats 🐐! Not sure my neighbours in Barclay Road would agree though! 🤣 I wouldn’t have a cockerel though, honest! 🤪
Two customers have just arrived to buy some of Innocent’s and Betty’s chickens. Hope they don’t offer less money because they have a Mzungu staying! 🤪
